Plan for Health
September 25, 2013 at 11:07 AM
Unfortunately we cannot see into the future. We do not know what direction our Health will take. We maybe healthy until we reach old age but then again we may not be. So if you were one of the unlucky people to get sick or need a major operation, would you want the problem to be fixed as soon as possible or could you wait until the public health system fit you in?
Not knowing what might or could go wrong, it's really hard to say. The least each adult can do is contact a Health Insurance company and ask the following questions:
- What health policies do you offer re: life only, major diseases or operations, all health claims etc?
- How much does it cost for you, and/or your family?
- What are the conditions on making a claim and for obtaining the cover?
Once you have been able to establish cover and cost then you will need to know what you can afford and assess your own health risk (the likelihood of you getting a particular disease or health problem e.g. family history).
If you have considered your health and all your health insurance options then you have made an informed decision whether to get health insurance or not.
